The purpose and effect is to amend rule language as part of the agency’s rule line reduction initiative, including the initiative to remove outdated obsolete and unnecessary rule language and update rule forms. Additionally, for some of the rule sections, amendment is required to implement Fla. Session Law 2013-128, and 2016-941 related to training standards, certification requirements and inactive licensure status.
Published on: 17695921. Review these rule sections and amend rule language as necessary to ensure that all rules conform to statutory requirements and to delete unnecessary and obsolete language. The department intends to update department forms and requirements for: EMT and Paramedic certification, recertification, certification renewal and inactive status certification; EMT and Paramedic training programs and courses related to certification, recertification and quality assurance; update medical direction and other requirements for EMS basic and advanced life support and training schools. The department intends to update definitions of terms used in chapter 64J-1 F.A.C. Some of the definition terms to be updated may be incorporated in section 64J-2.001F.A.C. The department intends to make amendments as necessary to implement Fla. Session Law 2013-128 and 2016 legislation that amends section 401.27 Florida Statutes.
