The proposed rule adopts and incorporates by reference Chapter 5.1 of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA®) 1582, Essential Job Tasks and Descriptions, 2018 Edition, which replaces the 2007 version of the aforementioned resource. The proposed rule provides updated guidelines regarding job and task qualifying standards upon which a medical examination to determine an individual’s fitness for firefighter training must be based.
