15B-1. Motor Vehicle Equipment Approval |
1(1) In compliance with Section 6316.241(1), F.S., 8the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles adopts the Standards of the Society of Automotive Engineers (400 Commonwealth Drive, Warrendale, Pa., 15096) and applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards as listed below for each device as indicated as its requirements for approval of the various types of devices mentioned above for use on motor vehicles operating in Florida.

134(2) Headlamps, auxiliary or fog lamps, rear lamps, signal lamps and reflectors are approved by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles upon submission to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (1201 Connecticut Avenue, Northwest, Washington, D.C. 20036) in accordance with their procedure for testing. A certificate of approval issued by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators for headlamps, auxiliary or fog lamps, rear lamps, signal lamps or reflectors is approved by this Department.
