1A-31.070. Additional Requirements for Recovery Permits

1A research design and description of proposed excavation activities prepared by the applicant’s project archaeologist, and approved by the division, shall be included in the recovery permit. The division shall require the permittee to secure the use of a conservation and curation facility, as well as relevant conservation expertise, to be approved by the division, if the permittee is responsible for conserving archaeological materials under the terms of the permit. The permittee is solely responsible for transporting, storing, insuring, and conserving all archaeological materials recovered under the permit and for the costs associated with these activities. The division may assist in these activities.
