  • 1Definitions for the purpose of this section:

    8(1) Euthanasia is a humane, proficient acceptable method for the destruction of livestock.

    21(2) Humane Methods means a method whereby the animal is rapidly and effectively rendered insensitive to pain by use of:

    41(a) A penetrating captive bolt;

    46(b) A gunshot of appropriate caliber and placement;

    54(c) The simultaneous and instantaneous severance of the carotid arteries with a sharp instrument causing loss of consciousness by anemia;

    74(d) Electrical means; or

    78(e) Chemical means.
