5C-9.006. Hides, Importation

  • 1(1) Hides of cattle, horses, mules, asses, or deer, or other animals known to be a host to the cattle fever tick, originating in or passing through any cattle fever tick exposed or tick infested area, state, or foreign country may move into Florida provided such hides have been salt cured for at least seven (7) days, after which they must have been dehydrated to a condition of flint dry hardness.

    72(2) Green hides or hides not meeting the requirements of subsection (1) originating in or passing through any cattle fever tick exposed or tick infested area, state, or foreign country, may not be imported into Florida.

    108(3) Hides moving into Florida in accordance with this section shall be subject to inspection by an authorized representative of the department before being permitted to proceed to point of destination.
