61-11.009. Practical Examinations

  • 1(1) Candidates required to take a practical examination shall be informed by the Department in writing of the performance criterion and any special equipment required for such performance.

    29(2) In the event that professional examiners are employed to evaluate candidate performance in practical examinations, no less than two examiners shall independently evaluate the performance of each candidate. The independent grades of the examiners shall be averaged to produce the final score for each candidate unless computed in accordance with a formula approved by the appropriate board.

    87(3) Each examiner shall grade independently of the other, and shall not discuss the candidate’s performance with anyone at any time during the examination or before the grades are recorded.

    117(4) The practical examiners shall read to the candidates the instructions for each practical performance or the instructions shall be distributed in written form. The examiners shall grade the candidates only with regard to the prescribed performance criterion. The candidate and practical examiner shall not engage in conversation during the practical performance, unless said conversation is a part of the practical examination.
