61G10-18. Continuing Education Providers |
1(1) Application for approval of each continuing education course offered by an approved provider shall be made on the Course Approval Application, Form DBPR LA 2, incorporated by reference in DBPR Rule 3361-35.017, 34F.A.C., a copy of which can be obtained from the Board Office.
46(2) Continuing education courses shall expire two years from the date of approval. Continuing education providers shall reapply for approval of any course that has expired by complying with Rule 7661G10-18.006, 77F.A.C., unless exempt by Rule 8261G10-18.002, 83F.A.C.
84(3) The application shall be submitted no later than 60 days prior to the next scheduled Board meeting at which the application is to be considered for approval. It shall include:
115(a) A description of the subject or subjects to be covered;
126(b) An outline of the course which includes the subjects, topics, and subtopics to be presented;
142(c) A current bibliography;
146(d) The names of each proposed instructor and alternate instructor with the education, experience, publication lists and other information relative to his or her qualifications to teach the particular course; and
177(e) The total hours of instruction which will be given.
187(f) If the course is to be delivered by distanced learning: the means by which the course will demonstrate student involvement, and addresses comprehension of content at regular intervals.
216(4) Complete applications shall be reviewed and approved by the Board. Incomplete applications shall be returned to the provider with instructions to complete.
239(5) Each course must be identified as falling within Rule 24961G10-15.001, 250F.A.C., by addressing one or more of the following categories:
260(a) Consultation, investigation, research, planning, general business, design, preparation of drawings, specifications, contract documents and reports, responsible construction supervision, or landscape management in connection with the planning and development of land and incidental water areas where the dominant purpose of the program is the preservation, conservation, enhancement, or determination of proper land uses, natural land features, ground cover and planting, or naturalistic and aesthetic values;
325(b) The determination of settings, grounds and approaches for building and structures or other improvements;
340(c) The setting of grades, the shaping and contouring of land and water forms, determination of drainage, and provision for storm drainage and irrigation systems;
365(d) The design of such tangible objects and features as are necessary to the purpose defined in Rule 38361G10-15.002, 384F.A.C.; and
386(e) Professional practice management.
390(f) Laws and rules related to the practice of Landscape Architecture.
401(6) A course which constitutes a sales presentation or promotion will be denied.
414(7) Approval of an instructor shall be limited by the Board to courses he/she is qualified to teach by education or experience.
436(8) Notice of any change in the title of a course shall be provided to the Board office thirty (30) days prior to implementation of the change.
463(9) Any change in the qualifications of the course instructor or an increase in the number of continuing education credits to be awarded for the course must be submitted on the form identified in subsection one (1) of this rule in time to permit review and approval or disapproval of the changed course by the Board prior to implementation of the proposed change.
526(10) Any portion of a course approved by the Board during the biennium in progress may be shortened by the elimination of certain content, and offered for credit equal to the time spent in the shortened presentation during the biennium with Board Approval. The provider must comply with Rule 57561G10-18.006, 576F.A.C.
