61G15-20.0018. Application for Low Income and Military Veterans Fee Waiver

  • 1(1) Pursuant to Section 5455.219(7)(a), F.S., 7the Board shall waive the initial licensing fee for members of the Armed Services of the United States and their spouses or surviving spouses. In addition, pursuant to Section 36455.213(12), F.S., 38the Board shall waive the application fee, initial licensure fee, and initial unlicensed activity fee for military veteran or his or her spouse at the time of discharge, if he or she applies within sixty (60) months of honorable discharge from any branch of the United States Armed Forces. Application for waiver of the initial application and licensing fees shall be made on Form FBPE MVL 002, 12/17, Members of the Armed Forces/Spouse Fee Waiver and Military Service Verification, which i119s incorporated by reference herein and may be obtained from 129https://fbpe.org/licensure/other_forms/military_fee_waiver 130or at 132https://www.flrules.org/Gateway/reference.asp?No=Ref-09491134.

    135(2) Pursuant to Section 139455.219(7)(a), F.S., 141the Board shall waive the initial licensing fee for a low-income individual. As defined in that section, a “low income individual” is a person whose household income, before taxes, is at or below one hundred thirty percent (130%) of the federal poverty guidelines prescribed for the family’s household size by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.     282(b) All applications for waiver of the initial licensing fee shall be accompanied by proof that the individual’s income is at or below 130% of the federal poverty guidelines. Proof of income may be established through documentation of enrollment in a state or federal program which requires participants to be at or below 130% of the federal poverty guidelines or by other means, such as submission of Federal Income Tax Returns.
