61G3-15.025. Public Comment at Board Meetings

  • 1The Barbers’ Board invites and encourages all members of the public to provide comment on propositions before the Board. The opportunity to provide comment shall be subject to the following:

    31(1) Members of the public will be given an opportunity to provide comment on propositions before the Board after an agenda item is introduced at a properly noticed board meeting.

    61(2) Individual members of the public shall be limited to three minutes to provide comment. Groups including five or more persons shall have a single person speak on behalf of the group and that speaker shall be limited to five minutes to provide comment. The time limits to provide comment shall not include time spent by the presenter responding to questions posed by Board members, staff or board counsel. The chair of the Board may extend the time limits to provide comment if time permits.

    146(3) A member of the public shall notify board staff in writing of the person’s or group’s interest to be heard on a proposition before the Board. The notification shall identify the person or group, and indicate the person’s or group’s support, opposition, or neutrality, and identify who will speak on behalf of a group consisting of five or more persons. If the person or entity appearing before the Board does not wish to be identified, a pseudonym may be used.
