61G5-22. School Curriculum Performance Based Learning - Minimal Competency And Service |
1(1) Objective: To use professional manicuring implements, supplies, procedures, in shaping and polishing the nails.
16(2) Learning Objectives:
19(a) To describe nail structures;
24(b) To describe nail irregularities;
29(c) To identify nail diseases;
34(d) To identify the basic types or artificial and sculptured nails and nail extensions and their uses;
51(e) To use safety precautions and sanitation methods in manicuring, pedicuring, and extending the nails;
66(f) To describe chemicals and products.
72(3) Performance Objectives:
75(a) To give a manicure;
80(b) To give a pedicure;
85(c) To give a massage of the hands and feet;
95(d) To extend nails.
99(4) Services required: a minimum of twenty (20). The Board recommends that in meeting this requirement students perform a combination of these services; a service constitutes one complete set of nails per client for either manicure, pedicure, or nail extension.
