62-331.212. General Permit for Scientific Measurement Devices

  • 1(1) This general permit authorizes the following activities:

    9(a) Installation and removal of devices, whose purpose is to measure and record scientific data, such as staff gages, meteorological stations, water recording and biological observation devices, water quality testing and improvement devices, and similar structures.

    45(b) Installation and removal of small weirs and flumes constructed primarily to record water quantity and velocity, provided the dredging or filling is limited to 25 cubic yards.

    73(2) Upon completion of the use of the device to measure and record scientific data, the measuring device and any other structures or fills associated with that device (e.g., foundations, anchors, buoys, lines, etc.) must be removed to the maximum extent practicable and the site restored to pre-construction elevations.
