62B-55.002. Definitions

  • 1(1) “Artificial light” or “artificial lighting” means the light emanating from any human-made device.

    15(2) “Beach” means the zone of unconsolidated material that extends landward from the mean low water line to the place where there is a marked change in material or physiographic form, or to the line of permanent vegetation, usually the effective limit of storm waves.

    60(3) “Local government” means any county listed in Rule 6962B-55.003, 70F.A.C., and any municipality, community development district, or special taxing district within those counties.

    84(4) “Marine turtle” is any turtle, including all life stages from egg to adult, of the species 101Caretta caretta 103(loggerhead), 104Chelonia mydas 106(green), 107Dermochelys coriacea 109(leatherback), 110Eretmochelys imbricata 112(hawksbill), and 114Lepidochelys kempi 116(Kemp’s ridley). For purposes of this rule, marine turtle is synonymous with sea turtle.
