62S-6.022. Notification of Pollutant Discharge  


Effective on Thursday, January 9, 2014
  • 1(1) The “person-in-charge” master of any vessel or the “person-in-charge” of any terminal facility that suffers a pollutant discharge which enters or threatens to enter waters of the state within the jurisdiction of the department shall, within one hour of discovery of the discharge, notify the 47State Watch Office at (850) 413-9911 53or the United States Coast Guard at the National Response Center.

    64(2) The person making notification to the 71State Watch Office 74shall provide at least the following information regarding the spill.

    84(a) Name, occupation, title and telephone number of person making notification.

    95(b) Type of pollutant spilled.

    100(c) Location of spill (nearest city, river, bay, miles, etc.).

    110(d) Type of installation or carrier involved in the spill.

    120(e) Estimated amount of pollutant spilled.

    126(f) Date and time (local) of spill.

    133(g) Persons and agencies already contacted.

    139(h) Size and characteristics of area already affected by the spill.

    150(i) Containment and cleanup efforts to date.

    157(j) Cause of spill if known.

    163(k) Person or firm in charge of source.
