64B20-4.0046. Board Established and Approved Protocols for Audiology Assistants

  • 1(1) The following are Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology established and approved protocols for consultation and supervision of audiology assistants prior to providing services in a location distant to the supervising licensee pursuant to Section 37468.1125(9), F.S., 39Rules 4064B20-4.003 41and 4264B20-4.004, 43F.A. 44C.

    45(2) Competency of duties for which the assistant has been specifically trained and 58is 59authorized to perform under Chapter 64468, F.S. and Division 64B20, F.A.C. in the areas defined in subsection 7664B20-4.003(7), 77F.A.C.

    78(a) Once 80competency 81is 82achieved, 83Form 84DH85-MQA 5063 87entitled, 88“Audio89logy 90Assistant 91Collaborative 92Practice 93Agreement,” 95(11/2020), which 97is 98incorporated by reference herein, and can be obtained from 107htt108p://109www.flrules.org/Gateway/reference.asp?No=Ref-12780, 111must 112be 113signed 114by 115supervising 116licensee 117and 118audiology 119assistant 120confirming 121the 122mutual 123agreement 124between 125the 126licensee 127and the 129assistant 130are 131acting 132under 133established 134and 135approved 136Board 137of 138Speech-Language 139Pathology 140and 141Audiology 142protocols.

    190(c) Supervising licensee shall require the availability of 198the 199supervising audiologist for consultation with and direction 206of 207the supervised assistant must be available via synchronous telecommunication.

    216(3) The licensed supervising audiologist will maintain full ethical and legal responsibility for 229all 230actions of the assistant 234when services are 237provided.

    238(4) The licensed supervising audiologist must hold a clear and active license within the state 253of Florida.
