64B9-2. Nursing Programs |
1(1) All nursing programs requesting Board of Nursing approval must conform with the Florida Department of Education curriculum framework.
20(2) In order to ensure the preparation of nurses capable of competent practice, the curriculum shall:
36(a) Reflect the stated philosophy and objectives of the program.
46(b) Evidence an organized pattern of instruction consistent with principles of learning and sound educational practices.
62(c) Provide for systematic evaluation of student learning in both clinical experience and theoretical instruction.
77(d) Evidence ongoing program evaluation in relation to currency of content, competency of instruction, adequacy of clinical experiences and effectiveness of graduate performance.
100(3) Each nursing program and each campus offering nursing education require separate individual approval by the Board. Programs may be offered in the following categories:
125(a) Professional nursing education programs that terminate in a bachelor’s degree.
136(b) Professional nursing education programs that terminate in an associate’s degree.
147(c) Professional nursing education programs that terminate in a diploma.
157(d) Practical nursing education programs.

250(b) Percentage of clinical:
2541. The curriculum for professional nursing programs that terminate in a bachelor’s degree must consist of at least 40% clinical training.
2752. The curriculums for professional nursing programs that terminate in an associate’s degree and professional nursing programs that terminate in a diploma must consist of at least 50% clinical training.
