64E-5.619. Syringe Shields and Labels

  • 1(1) A licensee shall keep syringes that contain radioactive material to be administered in a radiation shield. Each individual who prepares or administers radiopharmaceuticals shall use a syringe radiation shield unless the use of the shield is contraindicated for that patient.

    42(2) Unless used immediately, a licensee shall label conspicuously each syringe or syringe radiation shield that contains a syringe with a radiopharmaceutical with the patient’s name or the radiopharmaceutical name or its abbreviation and the type of diagnostic study or therapy procedure to be performed.
