65C-32.002. Parenting Course Delivery

  • 1(1) A parenting course shall be a minimum of four (4) hours of course instruction, including the time required for instruction, participant exercises and an end of course test. Online courses shall have a mechanism that prevents participants from completing the course in less than four (4) hours.

    49(2) The parenting course content shall include a variety of teaching methods, such as lectures, group discussions, role-plays, videotapes, or other instructional activities.

    72(3) Each online or correspondence provider offering a parenting course shall incorporate a means for participants to communicate with the course instructor for questions. Course content specific questions shall be answered by the instructor within one (1) business day of receiving the question.

    115(4) All courses shall include a means of verifying the identity of participants.

    128(5) The instructor of a classroom parenting course and the instructor of an online or correspondence parenting course who is designated and available to communicate with participants shall possess the following qualifications:

    160(a) Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, education or related field and have at a minimum two (2) years’ experience in dealing with family, parenting, and divorce related issues; or

    191(b) Has a minimum of four (4) years related work experience in dealing with family, parenting, and divorce-related issues.
