68A-15.062. Specific Regulations for Wildlife Management Areas - North Central Region

  • 1(1) Camp Blanding Wildlife Management Area.

    7(a) Open season:

    101. General gun still – Opening the 17Monday 18before Thanksgiving and continuing for 55 days thereafter, only in the following areas:

    31a. Still hunt area one, which is within the area described by a line beginning at the intersection of State Roads 16 and 21 then west along the south side of State Road 16, then south along the east side of D Avenue, then southeast along the northeast side of Quonset Hut road, then southwest on (and including) Prison Camp Road, then east on (and including) Dade Road to Ridge Road, then south on (and including) Ridge Road to Tank Trail, then southeast on (and including) Tank Trail to Ox Pin, then south on (and including) Ox Pin, then east on (and including) Clay Pit Road, then north along the west side of State Road 21 back north to the intersection of State Roads 16 and 21.

    158b. Still hunt area two, which is that portion of the Wildlife Management Area south of (and including) Impact Road.

    1782. General gun dog – Opening the 185Monday 186before Thanksgiving and continuing for eight days thereafter, and opening the Saturday before Christmas (or Christmas Day when it occurs on a Saturday) and continuing for eight days thereafter. Only in the dog hunt area, which is north of State Road 16 and County Road 215, and east of County Road 225 and West Road.

    2413. Wild hog-dog – Opening the Saturday before the third Monday of January and continuing for 2 days thereafter, and opening the Saturday before the third Monday of February and continuing for 2 days thereafter. Only in the dog hunt area.

    2824. Youth turkey hunt – As established by Rule 29168A-13.004, 292F.A.C., except with specific hunt dates and locations to be determined by the Camp Blanding Post Commander.

    3095. Spring turkey – Hunters shall be afforded at least two five-day periods of hunting, with specific hunt dates and locations to be determined by, and at the discretion of, the Camp Blanding Post Commander.

    3446. Archery – September 26-28 and October 3-5, only in the still hunt 357and archery-only 359areas; 360and October 10-12, 17-19, 364and the Monday before Thanksgiving and continuing for 55 days thereafter in the archery-only area, which is within the area described by a line beginning at the intersection of County Road 225 and Woodbury Road, then southeast on County Road 225 to State Road 16, then south on State Road 16 and County Road 230 to the Camp Blanding boundary on the east side of County Road 230, then east along the Camp Blanding boundary to Duval Road, then south on Duval Road to Yerkes Road, then west on Yerkes Road to Treat Road, then north on Treat Road to Lightning Strike Road, then west and north on Lightning Strike Road to State Road 230, then west on State Road 230 to the Camp Blanding boundary, then north along the Camp Blanding boundary to State Road 16, then east on the south side of State Road 16 to Lightning Strike Road, then north on Lightning Strike Road to Bessent Road, then north on Bessent Road to the starting point. A disjunct portion of the archery-only area is south of County Road 215, east of Rifle Range Road, north of State Road 16 and west of the Camp Blanding boundary.

    5637. Supervised youth – The Saturday and Sunday prior to Columbus Day, and the Saturday and Sunday 12 and 13 days (respectively) after Columbus Day, site to be determined by the Camp Blanding Post Commander.

    5988. Muzzleloading gun – October 10-12 and 17-19, only in the still hunt areas.

    6129. Fishing – Allowed only on designated fish management areas, per fish management area regulations.

    62710. Trapping – December 1 through January 7, only in the still hunt areas.

    641(b) Legal to take: All legal game, fish and furbearers. Turkeys of either sex may be taken during the archery and muzzleloading gun seasons, the last two days of each of the two general gun still quota periods, the first two days of the non-quota period of the general gun still season and the last three days of each general gun dog hunt. Taking antlered deer not having at least one antler with three or more points or one antler with a main beam of ten inches or more in length is prohibited, except by persons less than 16 years of age. During the supervised youth hunts, only wild hogs and one antlered or antlerless deer may be taken per youth. 762Only wild hog may be taken during the wild hog-dog season.

    773(c) Camping: Prohibited.

    776(d) General regulations:

    7791. Persons shall check in and out at a check station when entering and exiting the area and check all game taken.

    8012. Hunters may enter the area with their hunting equipment and dogs (where legal) one hour before sunrise and shall exit the area with their equipment and dogs by one hour after sunset.

    8343. Possession or use of a dog, other than a dog on a leash for trailing wounded game, is prohibited except (1) in the dog hunt area and (2) bird dogs are allowed in still hunt areas 1 and 2 but only after the first 16 days of the general gun season. 886During the wild hog-dog season, no more than three free-running dogs per wild hog-dog daily quota permit shall be allowed.

    9064. Vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads, within areas open for hunting, unless posted as closed.

    9265. During the spring turkey quota hunts, hunters will be assigned to a zone and may enter only that zone. Hunters may not enter the area before 5 a.m. each day and shall exit by 1 p.m. of each hunt day. During spring turkey hunts, only persons eligible for the hunt are allowed in the area.

    9826. Public access is prohibited except by persons engaged in authorized activities, but only during the time and in those areas where the authorized activity is allowed.

    10097. Only shotguns are allowed for taking turkey during the spring turkey season.

    10228. Taking wildlife with shotguns is prohibited during the archery season.

    10339. Only muzzleloading guns are allowed for taking wildlife during the muzzleloading gun season.

    104710. During the supervised youth hunt, only persons under 16 years of age but not younger than eight years of age, and under the supervision and in the presence of an adult, not younger than 18 years of age as provided in Section 1090790.22, F.S., 1092may hunt.

    109411. The possession or consumption of intoxicating beverages or drugs is prohibited.

    110612. Fires are prohibited.

    111013. The use of all-terrain vehicles is prohibited, except as authorized by written permit from the Post Commander.

    112814. Access to still hunt area one, still hunt area two and the dog hunt area is allowed only through Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission check stations 1, 2 or 3.

    116015. It shall be unlawful to take wildlife on 1169or within 100 feet 1173of Dade, Treat and Impact Roads.

    117916. During the wild hog-dog season, a daily quota permit allows three hunters to participate in the hunt.

    1197(2) Cypress Creek Wildlife Management Area.

    1203(a) Open season:

    12061. Youth turkey hunt – March 10-11.

    12132. Spring turkey – March 17-25.

    12193. Archery – September 23 through October 8.

    12274. Muzzleloading gun – October 21-23.

    12335. Fishing – Allowed throughout the year.

    12406. Small game – Opening the Saturday before Thanksgiving and 1250closing concurrently with the gray squirrel season established in Rule 126068A-13.004, 1261F.A.C1262.

    1263(b) Legal to take: Antlered deer, 1269bear 1270(only during those portions of the muzzleloading gun season that coincide with the open season established for the North BMU in Rule 129268A-13.004, 1293F.A.C), 1294gray squirrel, rabbit, furbearers and fish. 1300During the small game season, the take of small game is also allowed. 1313Taking of antlered deer not having at least one antler with three or more points or one antler with a main beam of ten inches or more in length is prohibited, except by persons less than 16 years of age.

    1353(c) Camping is allowed by permit only from the Suwannee River Water Management District.

    1367(d) General regulations:

    13701. Hunting with dogs, other than dogs with a shoulder height of 15 inches or less is prohibited, 1388except any dog may be used to take small game during the small game season.  The take of wild hog with dogs is prohibited1412.

    14132. Vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads.

    14243. The use of all-terrain vehicles is prohibited.

    14324. Public access is prohibited from 1.5 hours after sunset until 1.5 hours before sunrise, except by persons possessing a Special Use Authorization from the Suwannee River Water Management District.

    1462(3) Gulf Hammock Wildlife Management Area.

    1468(a) Open season:

    14711. General gun – November 4 through January 21.

    14802. Youth turkey hunt – March 10-11.

    14873. Spring turkey – March 17 through April 22.

    14964. Archery – September 16 through October 15.

    15045. Archery and muzzleloading gun – October 21 through November 3.

    15156. Small game – January 27 through February 25.

    15247. Fishing and frogging – Allowed only during periods when hunting is allowed.

    1537(b) Legal to take: All legal game, fish, frogs and furbearers. Taking of antlered deer not having at least one antler with two or more points is prohibited, except by persons less than 16 years of age.

    1574(c) Camping: Prohibited.

    1577(d) General regulations:

    15801. Vehicles may be operated only on established roads.

    15892. Public access is allowed only when hunting is allowed, on the Friday prior to archery/muzzleloading gun and spring turkey seasons and on the consecutive Friday, Saturday, and Sunday prior to the 1621archery and 1623general gun seasons.

    16263. Public access to the area is allowed only at designated entrances. Public access during periods when hunting is allowed is limited to entering the area no earlier than one hour before legal shooting hours and exiting the area no later than one hour after legal shooting hours.

    16744. Fires are prohibited.

    16785. Access is allowed only by individuals possessing a valid recreational user permit, except as provided by Section 1696379.354, F.S.

    16986. The taking of wildlife by use of a gun on or from the right-of-way of Butler Road south of its intersection with Buckhead Road is prohibited as provided by Rule 172968A-4.008, 1730F.A.C.

    17317. The possession or use of dogs, other than bird dogs or waterfowl retrievers, is prohibited in that portion of the area south of King Road, east of the powerline right-of-way, south of Howell Road and east of Butler Road; except 1772during small game season and 1777as provided by paragraphs 178168A-15.004(7)(c) 1782and (d), F.A.C.

    17858. Hunting with dogs is prohibited during small game season, except any dog may be used to take small game.

    18059. During small game season, taking wild hog by the use of dogs is prohibited.

    1820(4) Lochloosa Wildlife Management Area.

    1825(a) Open season:

    18281. General gun – November 4-17, November 18 through December 3 and December 4-31.

    18422. Youth turkey hunt – March 10-11.

    18493. Spring turkey – March 17 through April 22.

    18584. Archery – September 23 through October 22.

    18665. Muzzleloading gun – October 27-29.

    18726. Duck, geese and coot – During the seasons established by Rule 188468A-13.003, 1885F.A.C.

    18867. Small game – January 1 through March 4.

    18958. Fishing and frogging – Throughout the year.

    1903(b) Legal to take: All legal game, 1910bear 1911(only during those portions of the archery and muzzleloading gun seasons that coincide with the open season established for the Central BMU in Rule 193568A-13.004, 1936F.A.C), 1937fish, frogs and furbearers. 1941Taking of antlered deer not having at least one antler with three or more points or one antler with a main beam of ten inches or more in length is prohibited, except by persons less than 16 years of age.

    1981(c) Camping: Camping allowed only by permit from the St. Johns River Water Management District and only at designated campsites.

    2001(d) General regulations:

    20041. Taking wild hog by the use of dogs is prohibited, except during the last 28 days of general gun season.

    20252. Vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads. Tracked vehicles, all-terrain vehicles and unlicensed vehicles are prohibited. Non-motorized bicycles are allowed, but may be ridden only on named or numbered roads and designated trails.

    20623. During the general gun and small game seasons, hunting as specified by paragraph 207668A-24.002(2)(b), 2077F.A.C., is allowed.

    20804. The taking of wildlife by use of a gun on or from the rights-of-way of County Road 325 is prohibited as provided by Rule 210568A-4.008, 2106F.A.C.

    21075. Fires are prohibited.

    21116. Horses are prohibited during general gun season. Horses may be ridden only on named or numbered roads and designated trails.

    2132(5) Osceola Wildlife Management Area.

    2137(a) Open season:

    21401. General gun – November 11 through January 7.

    21492. Small game – January 8 through March 4.

    21583. Youth turkey hunt – March 10-11.

    21654. Spring turkey – March 17 through April 22.

    21745. Archery – September 23 through October 15.

    21826. Muzzleloading gun – October 21-28 in the still hunt area and Big Gum Swamp Wilderness only.

    21997. Fox, raccoon, opossum and bobcat – November 11 through March 4 in the dog hunt portion of the area.

    22198. 2220September duck – During the September duck seasons established by Rule 223168A-13.003, 2232F.A.C.

    22339. Fishing and frogging – Throughout the year.

    224110. Trapping – January 8 through March 1.

    224911. Bear ‒ During the open season established for the North BMU in Rule 226368A-13.004, 2264F.A.C.

    2265(b) Legal to take: All legal game, 2272bear (only during the bear season), 2278fish, frogs and furbearers. 2282Taking of antlered deer not having at least one antler with three or more points or one antler with a main beam of ten inches or more in lengt2311h is prohibited, except by persons less than 16 years of age.

    2323(c) Camping: Throughout the year but only on designated campsites during general gun season on that portion of the area designated and posted as National Forest lands. On that portion of the area designated and posted as State Forest lands, camping is allowed throughout the year only at designated sites and only by permit from the Florida Forest Service.

    2382(d) General regulations:

    23851. The dog hunt area is within the area created by traversing south on Forest Service Road 237 from its intersection with the north boundary of the Osceola National Forest; southeast on Forest Service Road 263; south on Forest Service Road 234; 2427east and north on County Road 250; west on Forest Service Road 200, north and east on Forest Road 4 to Forest Road 26; north on Forest Road 26 to Forest Road 3; east on Forest Road 3 to Eddy Grade; northwesterly on Eddy Grade to State Road 2; northwest on State Road 2; southwest on Forest Service Road 295; west on Forest Service Road 296F; south on Forest Service Road 296C; east and south on Forest Service Road 296E; south on Forest Service Road 295; south on Forest Service Road 297 to the boundary of the Osceola National Forest; then due west to the northwest corner of Section 23, Township 1 South, Range 19 East; then south along the east side of Section 27, Township 1 South, Range 19 East to the southeast corner of Section 27, Township 1 South, Range 19 East; then west to the SW corner of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 Section 29, Township 1 North, Range 19 East; then north along the west boundary of the East 1/2 of the West 1/2 Section 29, Township 1 North, Range 19 East to the south boundary of Section 20, Township 1 North, Range 19 East; then west along the north boundary of Section 30, Township 1 North, Range 19 East to the Baker County/Columbia County line; then south along the County Line to Forest Road 36; south to Forest Road 46; south on Forest Road 39; west on Forest Road 42 until it becomes Forest Service Road 212; south on Forest Service Road 212; west on Forest Service Road 272; north on Forest Service Road 270 to the Forest Boundary; then west back to the beginning point of Forest Service Road 237. Except within the dog hunt areas, the possession or use of dogs, other than bird dogs or retrievers, is prohibited except as provided by paragraph 274068A-15.004(7)(c) 2741or (d), F.A.C.

    27442. Deer dogs may be trained from October 29 through November 7, except in the still hunt area.

    27623. The taking of wildlife by use of a gun on or from the rights-of-way of Interstate 10, County Roads 250, 250A, 229, 127 and 125, Forest Service Road 236 (between US 90 and C.R. 250), and State Road 2 is prohibited as provided by Rule 280868A-4.008, 2809F.A.C.

    28104. Motorized vehicles 2813are allowed only on designated, named or numbered roads and mixed-use roads, except all-terrain vehicles are allowed only on designated motorized trails and mixed-use roads.

    28385. Operation of a vehicle in areas posted as closed to vehicles is prohibited.

    28526. 2853During the fox, raccoon, opossum and bobcat, deer-dog training and general gun seasons, the possession of dogs other than bird dogs and waterfowl retrievers is prohibited, except on roads adjacent to the dog hunt area, all lands within the dog hunt area and Interstate 10; State Road 2; County Roads 125, 229, 250, 250A, Eddy Grade and Baxter Grade; and Forest Roads 231, 236 (east from US 441 into the dog hunt area only), 237, 262, 263 and 285. Additionally, any leashed or caged dog may be kept at the East Tower hunt camp during the general gun season.

    29527. During the general gun and small game seasons, hunting as specified in paragraph 296668A-24.002(2)(b), 2967F.A.C., is allowed, but only in the dog hunt area. A quota permit shall not be required to take fox, raccoon, opossum and bobcat from 1 hour after sunset until 1 hour before sunrise during general gun season.

    3005(6) Big Bend Wildlife Management Area – Tide Swamp Unit.

    3015(a) Open season:

    30181. General gun – November 4 through December 31.

    30272. Archery – September 23 through October 22.

    30353. Muzzleloading gun – October 27-29.

    30414. Small game – January 1 through 3048February 253050.

    30515. Fishing and frogging – Throughout the year.

    30596. Duck, geese and coot – During the seasons established by Rule 307168A-13.003, 3072F.A.C.

    30737. Youth turkey hunt – March 10-11.

    30808. Spring turkey – March 17 through April 22.

    30899. Trapping – January 8 through March 1.

    309710. Bear 3099‒ During the open season established for the East Panhandle BMU in Rule 311268A-13.004, 3113F.A.C.

    3114(b) Legal to take: All legal game, 3121bear (only during the bear season), 3127fish, frogs and furbearers. 3131Taking antlered deer not having at least one antler with three or 3143more points 3145or one antler with a main beam of ten inches or more in length 3159is prohibited, 3161except by persons less than 16 years of age3170.

    3171(c) Camping: Prohibited, except primitive overnight camping shall be allowed at designated sites at Sponge Point and in the vicinity of Dallus Creek, by permit only from the Commission, for those individuals utilizing the Big Bend Saltwater Paddling Trail from September 11 through June 30 only. This permit shall be valid for through-paddlers only and shall be valid for one night only.

    3233(d) General regulations:

    32361. Possession or use of dogs other than waterfowl retrievers or bird dogs is prohibited, except as provided by paragraph 325668A-15.004(7)(c) 3257or (d), F.A.C.

    32602. Motorized vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads from September 1 through April 30. From May 1 through August 31 all motorized vehicles shall be operated only on Dallus Creek Road, Hagen’s Cove Road, Tide City Mainline, Turkey Track Tram, Pine Island Road, Indian Island Road and Bridge Road.

    33133. During the muzzleloading gun season, 3319the bear season, the youth turkey hunt, 3326and the first 16 days of the archery, general gun and spring turkey seasons, hunters shall check in and out at a check station when entering or exiting the area and check all game taken.

    33614. Fires are prohibited.

    33655. The taking of wildlife by use of a gun on or from the right-of-way of County Road 361 is prohibited as provided by Rule 339068A-4.008, 3391F.A.C.

    33926. The use of all-terrain vehicles is prohibited.

    34007. Persons shall enter and exit the area at designated entrances.

    3411(7) Big Bend Wildlife Management Area – Spring Creek Unit.

    3421(a) Open season:

    34241. General gun – November 4-12 3430and November 13 through 3434December 31.

    34362. Archery – September 23 through October 22.

    34443. Muzzleloading gun – October 27-29.

    34504. Small game – January 1 through March 4.

    34595. Youth turkey hunt – March 10-11.

    34666. Spring turkey – March 17 through April 22.

    34757. Trapping – January 8 through March 1.

    34838. Duck, geese and coot – During the seasons established by Rule 349568A-13.003, 3496F.A.C.

    34979. Fishing and frogging – Throughout the year.

    350510. Bear 3507 3508During the open season established for the East Panhandle BMU in Rule 352068A-13.004, 3521F.A.C.

    3522(b) Legal to take: All legal game, 3529bear (only during the bear season), 3535fish, frogs and furbearers. Taking of antlered deer not having at least one antler with two or more points is prohibited, except by persons less than 16 years of age.

    3565(c) Camping: Prohibited, except primitive overnight camping shall be allowed at designated sites at Spring Warrior Creek, by permit only from the Commission, for those individuals utilizing the Big Bend Saltwater Paddling Trail from September 11 through June 30 only. This permit shall be valid for through-paddlers only and shall be valid for one night only.

    3621(d) General regulations:

    36241. During the muzzleloading gun season, 3630the bear season, the youth turkey hunt, 3637and the first 16 days of the archery, general gun and spring turkey seasons, hunters shall check in and out at a check station when entering or exiting the area and shall check all game taken.

    36732. Motorized vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads from September 1 through April 30. From May 1 through August 31, motorized vehicles may be operated only on Spring Creek Road, Rock Road, Swamp Spur, Mule Wallow Spur and Road Spurs 1, 2 and 3.

    37213. Waterfowl hunting from permanent blinds or structures is prohibited.

    37314. Fires are prohibited.

    37355. Hunting raccoon and opossum as specified in paragraph 374468A-24.002(2)(b), 3745F.A.C., is allowed only during the small game season.

    37546. The use of dogs, other than bird dogs and retrievers is prohibited, except during small game season.

    37727. Persons shall enter and exit the area at designated entrances.

    37838. Taking wild hog by the use of dogs is prohibited.

    3794(8) Big Bend Wildlife Management Area – Hickory Mound Unit.

    3804(a) Open season:

    38071. General gun – November 4-12, 13-19 and November 20 through December 31.

    38202. Small game – January 1 through 3827February 253829.

    38303. Spring turkey – March 17 through April 22.

    38394. Archery – September 30 through October 29.

    38475. September duck – Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays on the Hickory Mound Impoundment and allowed every day of the seasons on the remainder of the area as established by Rule 387768A-13.003, 3878F.A.C.

    38796. Duck, geese and coot – Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and the first day of each phase of the waterfowl and coot season on the Hickory Mound Impoundment and allowed every day of the season on the remainder of the area as established by Rule 392368A-13.003, 3924F.A.C.

    39257. Fishing and frogging – Throughout the year.

    39338. Trapping – January 8 through March 1.

    39419. Bear – During the open season established for the East Panhandle BMU in Rule 395668A-13.004, 3957F.A.C.

    3958(b) Legal to take: All legal game, 3965bear (only during the bear season), 3971fish, frogs and furbearers. Taking of antlered deer not having at least one antler with two or more points is prohibited, except by persons less than 16 years of age.

    4001(c) Camping: Prohibited, except primitive overnight camping shall be allowed at designated sites at Rock Island, by permit only from the Commission, for those individuals utilizing the Big Bend Saltwater Paddling Trail from September 11 through June 30 only. This permit shall be valid for through-paddlers only and shall be valid for one night only.

    4056(d) General regulations:

    40591. Waterfowl and coot shooting hours for the Hickory Mound Impoundment: From the beginning of shooting hours established pursuant to Rule 408068A-13.003, 4081F.A.C., until noon.

    40842. Airboats or vehicles are prohibited inside the Hickory Mound Impoundment Area. Gas-powered outboard motors are prohibited in the Hickory Mound Impoundment from August 31 until March 31. Gas-powered outboard motors of 4 h.p. or less are allowed in the Hickory Mound Impoundment from April 1 through August 30.

    41333. Commercial fishing or crabbing is prohibited in the Hickory Mound Impoundment.

    41454. Taking wildlife with shotguns within the Hickory Mound Impoundment is allowed only during days when waterfowl and coot hunting is allowed and only for taking migratory game birds.

    41745. The take of wildlife with any firearm from the Hickory Mound Impoundment dikes is prohibited.

    41906. During 4192the bear season and 4196the first 16 days of the archery, general gun and spring turkey seasons, hunters shall check in and out at a check station when entering or exiting the area and check all game taken. Waterfowl hunters using the Hickory Mound Impoundment must check in and out at the check station whenever it is manned and check all game taken.

    42557. Only shotguns or bows and arrows are allowed for taking wildlife in the Hickory Mound Impoundment.

    42728. Motorized vehicles may be operated only on named or numbered roads from September 1 through April 30. From May 1 through August 31, motorized vehicles may be operated only on Cow Creek Grade, Coker Road, Swartz Tram west of J.C. Franklin Grade and J.C. Franklin Grade.

    43199. During the general gun and small game seasons, hunting as specified by paragraph 433368A-24.002(2)(b), 4334F.A.C., is allowed.

    433710. Hunting from permanent blinds or structures in the Hickory Mound Impoundment is prohibited.

    435111. Fires are prohibited.

    435512. Hunting with dogs is prohibited during the archery season except that waterfowl retrievers may be used during the September duck seasons.

    437713. Persons shall enter and exit the area at designated entrances. The Painted Rock Road entrance shall only be used during the general gun season.

    4402(9) Big Bend Wildlife Management Area – Jena Unit.

    4411(a) Open season:

    44141. Archery – Sepember 23 through October 22.

    44222. General gun – November 4-12 and November 13 through December 31.

    44343. Spring turkey – March 17 through April 22.

    44434. Small game – January 1 through 4450February 254452.

    44535. Fishing and frogging – Allowed throughout the year.

    44626. Duck, geese and coot – During the seasons established by Rule 447468A-13.003, 4475F.A.C.

    44767. Trapping – January 8 through March 1.

    4484(b) Legal to take: All legal game, fish, frogs and furbearers except that during archery season, taking antlerless deer or turkey other than bearded turkey or gobbler is prohibited. A group, for the purpose of bird dog training, may include up to four persons and up to six dogs. 7385One permit may be issued per day during the open season, on a first-come first-served basis, until a maximum of 14 permits have been issued.

    74103. A quota permit, as established annually by Order of the Executive Director or designee, shall be required for each group entering the area to hunt quail. Up to two quota permits may be issued per day and up to two hunters will be allowed per permit. The number of Saturdays open for quail hunting will be adjusted each year so as not to exceed a harvest of 15% of the fall population, based on annual fall quail surveys.
