69A-51.001. Scope of State Boiler Code

Effective on Tuesday, August 10, 2021
  • 1(1) This rule chapter establishes provisions to safeguard life, limb, and property by specifying minimum standards for the construction, installation, operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of boilers located in this state after October 1, 1987, and for the inspection of boilers in places of public assembly. There shall be a joint responsibility among the owner, the user, and the operating employees for compliance with this rule chapter.

68(2) This rule chapter does not presume to limit in any way the builder’s right to choose any method of design or form of construction which conforms to the codes and standards adopted in Rule 10369A-51.010, 104F.A.C. The codes and standards adopted contain fundamental features of construction and leave a number of details to the judgment of designers and authorized inspectors.

129(3) Special designs which are not covered by the codes and standards may be determined by the manufacturer in cooperation with the purchaser, subject to the approval of the Boiler Safety Program of the Department of Financial Services.

167(4) This rule chapter shall be enforced in conjunction with the codes adopted in Rule 18269A-51.010, 183F.A.C.
