69O-170.113. Computation of Time; Service by Mail  


Effective on Sunday, August 31, 1997
  • 1(1) In computing any period of time prescribed or allowed by these rules, by order of the arbitration panel or by any applicable statute, the day of the act from which the designated period of time begins to run shall not be included. The last day of the period shall be included unless it is a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday in which event the period shall run until the end of the next day which is neither a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday. As used in these rules, “legal holiday” means those days designated in Section 98110.117, F.S.

    100(2) Unless otherwise ordered by the arbitration panel, when a party is required or permitted to do an act within a prescribed period after the service of a paper upon that party and the paper is served by mail, five days shall be added to the prescribed period.
