9B-57.012. Program Beneficiary Eligibility (Transferred)

  • 1The program has been established to assist low-income persons, particularly the elderly and persons with disabilities, to make emergency repairs to their housing units that will preserve and protect the health and safety of their living environment. A person is eligible to receive assistance if that person has an income in relation to that person’s family size that is at or below 125 percent of the poverty level as specified annually in the federal Office of Management and Budget Poverty Guidelines; or the dwelling unit to be assisted under LEHRP is occupied by a permanent resident who has received cash assistance payments under Title IV or XVI of the Social Security Act or applicable State or local law at any time during the 12-month period preceding the determination of eligibility for assistance under the LEHRP. The local grantee shall establish procedures to ensure that eligible persons over 60 years of age and eligible persons who are physically disabled shall be given priority in the program.
