PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The purpose of this proposed rule development is to amend and incorporate by reference the Division of Licensing’s Firearms Instructor’s Training Manual, and the Certificate of Firearms Proficiency For Statewide Firearm License. Proposed amendments will clarify provisions within the rule; update legal references and requirements; and decrease the number of rounds to be fired during annual re-qualifying training for armed security guards and private investigators licensed under Chapter 493, Florida Statutes, thus reducing a significant burden on individuals and agencies in these regulated industries.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Firearms training for individuals who hold Class "G" Statewide Firearm Licenses.
