    DATE AND TIME: Thursday, January 21, 2016, 6:00 p.m.8:00 p.m. This will be an open house-style event.

    PLACE: Embassy Suites, located at 1100 Southeast 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33316.

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Project Open House is for learning about the Central Broward Transit (CBT) Phase 1 Study in Broward County, Florida. This project has entered the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Project Development process which includes technical evaluation of the proposed construction and operation of modern streetcar service that will be located mostly within the City of Fort Lauderdale. As part of Project Development, an Environmental Assessment (EA) is being prepared for the project pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA). The CBT Phase 1 Project will extend the future Wave Streetcar currently being implemented in downtown Fort Lauderdale and make important transit connections between downtown Fort Lauderdale, the Greater Fort Lauderdale-Broward County Convention Center/Port Everglades, and the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

    The project is being developed in coordination with Broward County and in collaboration with our project partners that include the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization, the City of Fort Lauderdale, and the Downtown Development Authority.

    Please drop in any time between 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Project Open House will provide an opportunity to learn about the project, become familiar with the study process, and provide feedback. Attendance is encouraged and participation and comments are appreciated.
