    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Optometry has issued an order disposing of the petition for declaratory statement filed by Kimberly Reed, OD, FAAO, on May 13, 2014. The following is a summary of the agencys disposition of the petition:

    Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was republished June 25, 2014, in Volume 40, No. 123, of the Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner seeks the Boards determination that use of the PROKERA® biological contact lens bandage is authorized under Florida law and that its use falls within the scope of practice of optometry, as defined in §463.002(7), F.S. The Board’s Order, filed September 16, 2014, issues a declaratory statement that the use of PROKERA® in the manner specified in the Petition is within the scope of the practice of optometry as used in §463.002(7), F.S.
