The Department of Financial Services (the “Department”) hereby gives notice:

The Department has issued an Order Granting Petition for Variance or Waiver (the “Petition”) filed by Calin Ionita (the “Petitioner”) on October 28, 2014. The following is a summary of the Department’s disposition of the Petition:

The Notice of Petition for Declaratory Statement was published November 4, 2014, in Vol. 40, No. 215 of the Florida Administrative Register.

Petitioner is applying for a Firefighters Supplemental Compensation Program. The Petitioner obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from University of Brasov in Romania. Petitioner’s degree is from a university that holds the equivalent of accreditation from an accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Therefore, Petitioner has obtained the equivalent of the U.S. Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution of higher education in the United States. Rules 69A-37.084 and 69A-37.085, F.A.C.
