Suwannee River Water Management District RFP No. 14/15-011WS

The District is partnering with FDEP, FDACS and University of Florida IFAS on a three-year field demonstration to provide guidance to producers in managing their water and nutrients with soil moisture sensors. The project designed by the project partners will replicate various irrigation schedules and fertilizer rates on a corn and peanut rotation. Each plot will be instrumented with a probe that monitors soil moisture and electrical conductivity at multiple depths. The data from the probes must be available in real-time for researchers to use in irrigation scheduling.

The project scope includes purchase, annual installation/removal/storage, operation, and maintenance of 72 one-meter probes, each equipped with four soil moisture and electroconductivity sensors and telemetered to report in real-time, to be used as part of a research project at the Suwannee Valley Agricultural Extension Center in Suwannee County near Live Oak, Florida.

    Proposals are due January 23, 2015, by 4:00 p.m.
