The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has determined that the Homosassa Special Water District’s project to replace over 7 miles of water pipes and to install new fire hydrants is not expected to generate controversy over potential environmental effects. The estimated cost is $2,600,000. The project may qualify for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) loan composed of federal and state funds. DEP will consider public comments about the environmental impacts of the proposed project that are postmarked or delivered at the address below within 30 days of this notice. A full copy of the FCEN can be obtained by writing to: Paul Brandl, DWSRF Program, DEP, 3900 Commonwealth Blvd., MS #3505, Tallahassee, Florida 32399 or calling (850)245-2986 or emailing paul.brandl@dep.state.fl.us.
