65G-2.012: Group Home Facility Standards

The November 1, 2012 hereby gives notice: The Agency for Persons with Disabilities received a Petition for Variance from Rule 65G-2.012(8)(c)1, F.A.C. from Our Place Group Home, Inc. located at 415 Harbor Blvd. in Port Charlotte. Rule 65G-2.012(8)(c)1 states that bedrooms shall be arranged so that privacy is assured for clients. Sole access to these rooms shall not be through a kitchen, bathroom or other bedrooms. A maximum of four residents shall share a bedroom used by clients. Our Place sought variance from the rule for one specific bedroom in its group home. The interior access to this bedroom is off a hallway that adjoins the kitchen, pantry and the laundry room. This bedroom has doors close to this hallway and the room itself has another door that opens to the exterior of the building.
Petition for Variance has been granted. This variance is limited to the facts and circumstances of this specific room in this specific group home as it is configured on this date and as of this time.
