The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is holding a public information meeting regarding proposed intersection improvements for US 1 near New Smyrna Beach. The project limits are from south of Smith Street to north of Julia Street. We are seeking participation of interested citizens, businesses and property owners within and near, the project limits.

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Information about the roadway design is available at the meeting. Staff members are available to discuss the project and answer any questions you may have. The project improves safety for pedestrians and motorists along the US 1 corridor. The plans call for widening and repaving the roadway, as well as additional right and left turn lanes at Canal Street, drainage improvements, and new signals at Canal Street and Lytle Avenue. The improvements also provide better traffic flow at the intersection of US 1 and Canal Street. This project is currently not funded for construction. Your input is very important during this process. Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status.
