NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF FINAL ORDER GRANTING WAIVER REQUEST
On December 10, 2013, the Town of Cross City, Florida (“Town”), filed a petition with the Department of Economic Opportunity (“Department”) requesting a waiver from paragraph 73C-23(4)(c), Fla. Admin. Code. A notice of the petition was published in the Florida Administrative Register on December 26, 2013. The rule requires that activities identified as “Addressed Needs” in a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program application be completed before activities identified as “Unmet Needs” can be undertaken. The Town identified the purchase of property for a residuals disposal site for its wastewater treatment facility as an Addressed Need and additional improvements to its wastewater treatment facility as Unmet Needs. The Town has made good faith efforts to locate an appropriate residuals disposal site but has not been successful and wants to move forward with additional improvements to its wastewater treatment plant identified in its application as Unmet Needs. On January 16, 2014, the Department issued Final Order No. DEO-14-002 granting the waiver request. A copy of the Final Order may be obtained by contacting the undersigned Agency Clerk.
