The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has determined that Lake Butler’s project involving the replacement of approximately 800 deteriorated residential and commercial water meters with new meters having automated Advanced Metering Infrastructure meter reading devices and the replacement of approximately 20 percent of service lines containing lead components is not expected to generate controversy over potential environmental effects. The total estimated construction cost of the project is $1,016,000. This project may qualify for a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan composed of federal and state funds. DEP will consider public comments about the environmental impacts of the proposed project that are postmarked or delivered at the address below within 30 days of this notice. A full copy of the FCEN can be obtained by writing to Gregg Caro, SRF Program, DEP, 3900 Commonwealth Boulevard, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3000, calling (850)245-2982 or emailing gregg.caro@dep.state.fl.us.
