GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Four will be hosting a Public Hearing for the Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study for SR A1A North Causeway Bridge from US 1 to approximately 2,000 feet east of the existing bridge in St. Lucie County (Financial Project ID Number: 429936-2-22-01). The Public Hearing will begin as an open house at 5:30 p.m. followed by a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by FDOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016, and executed by FHWA and FDOT.
This meeting is being held to allow interested persons an opportunity to discuss with staff the location, conceptual design, social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed project alternative for the PD&E Study. The primary purpose of this PD&E Study is to evaluate bridge replacement alternatives, which will resolve the structurally deficient conditions of the existing bridge and enhance regional mobility for the area bound by this study.
