40E-6.011: Policy and Purpose

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT on January 10, 2008, the South Florida Water Management District (District), received a petition for wavier from Collier County Board of County Commissioners, Application Number 07-1015-3, for utilization of Works or Lands of the District known as the Cocohatchee Canal, Collier County, Section 23, Township 48 South, Range 26 East for the proposed placement of bollards and vertical signage within 40 feet of top of canal bank and within the District’s 100 foot long designated equipment staging area. The petition seeks relief from subsections 40E-6.011(4), (6) and Rule 40E-6.221, Florida Administrative Code, which governs placement of permanent and/or semi-permanent above ground encroachments within 40 feet of the top of the canal bank and within the District’s 100 foot long designated equipment staging areas within Works or Lands of the District.
