64J-1.005: Air Ambulances
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Department was challenged with a situation pertaining to air ambulance transports. Currently, the department requires the applicant to include a letter of agreement or contract between the applicant and the Part 135 certificate holder for the aircraft listed on the application. The new requirements are in line with 401.251, Florida Statute requesting documentation of the carrier’s malpractice/professional liability insurance; a copy of the aircraft liability insurance coverage; a copy of each pilot’s license and current medical certificate and a copy of the aircraft’s air worthiness certificate. Additionally, the applicant shall provide documentation that all aircraft and crew members meet applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
