REQUEST FOR BIDS # 17-002
TERMINAL PARKING LOT EXPANSION PROJECT
The Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA) is soliciting sealed bids for the “TERMINAL PARKING LOT EXPANSION PROJECT”. The work is divided into a Base Bid plus three Additive Alternates as follows:
Base Bid – Parking expansion of the southeast portion of the existing Long-Term Parking Area; adding approximately 70 net regular spaces and expanding the existing stormwater pond located southwest of the existing Long-Term Parking Area.
Additive Alternate 1 – Parking expansion located west of the existing Short-Term Parking Area; adding approximately 80 net regular and 3 handicap spaces. Included in both the Base Bid and Additive Alternate 1 are landscaping, incidental electrical, lighting, signing, marking, and stormwater improvements.
Additive Alternate 2 – Provides for supplemental landscaping for the Base Bid parking area.
Additive Alternate 3 – Provides for supplemental landscaping for the Additive Alternate 1 parking area.
Beginning January 31, 2017, Bid Documents will be available electronically for examination. To obtain an electronic copy of the Bid Documents, contact Sue Finney at AVCON, Inc. at sfinney@avconinc.com or (407)599-1122. A complete examination and understanding of the drawings and specifications contained in the Bid Documents is necessary in order for the Bidder to properly submit a Bid. The Bid Documents also include a detailed set of Instructions to Bidders. All Bids shall be prepared in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The failure to comply with any requirement contained in the Bid Documents may result in the rejection of the Bid as non-responsive or a finding that the Bidder is unqualified for this Project.
A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Gainesville Regional Airport, Passenger Terminal, 3880 N.E. 39th Avenue, Gainesville, Florida 32609. A site visit of the project areas will be conducted immediately following the Pre-Bid Conference.
Bids must be signed by an authorized official, enclosed in a sealed envelope or package clearly marked: “Project No. 17–002 Terminal Parking Lot Expansion” and mailed or delivered to the Authority's Administrative Office, Gainesville Regional Airport, Attn: Chief Executive Officer, 3880 N.E. 39th Avenue, Suite A, Gainesville, Florida 32609.
A Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total of the Base Bid, plus all three Additive Alternate Bid schedules will be required to accompany bids.
Bids are due at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 and will be publicly opened at this time. The official clock is located in the Authority's Administrative Office. Bids received after 2:00 p.m. March 7, 2017 will not be considered.
Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms are encouraged to participate.
GACRAA reserves the right to reject any or all bids received in response to this Request for Bids as determined to be in the best interest of the Airport.
