    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on January 09, 2012, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety, received a petition for 204 West in Gainesville, FL. Petitioner seeks a variance of the requirements of ASME A17.3, Section 3.11.3, 2.7.4, 2.3.1, 2.3.3, 3.10.4(t), 3.11.1, 3.4.3(d), 3.3.3 and 3.10.3 as adopted by Chapter 30, Section 3001.2, Florida Building Code, adopted by paragraph 61C-5.001(1)(a), Florida Administrative Code, that requires upgrading the elevators with firefighters’ emergency operations, restricted door openings, means to access the pit, a pit stop switch, in-car stop switch, car emergency signaling device, sight guards, safety switch on hinged platform sills and top-of-car operating device which poses a significant economic/financial hardship.
