PURPOSE AND EFFECT: To clarify where alarm system controls and an alarm annunciator may be installed.

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: The proposed rule would allow the alarm system controls to be installed in the pit, hoistway, and machine space or machine room. The alarm annunciator must be installed in a continuously monitored location.
