GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: Financial Project Identification (FPID) Number: 437942-1

On behalf of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), I invite you to attend a public hearing regarding design plans for corridor improvements on International Speedway Boulevard (U.S. 92) from the Halifax River Bridge to State Road (S.R.) A1A in Volusia County.

The proposed improvements include construction of a roundabout to replace the existing signal at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard and S.R. A1A, as well as widening International Speedway Boulevard to provide wider travel lanes and a raised median. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalks and curb ramps will be incorporated throughout the corridor. Additionally, signals will be reconstructed at Halifax Avenue, Peninsula Drive (S.R. 441) and Grandview Avenue. This design project is scheduled for completion in late 2020. Right of way acquisition is currently funded in Fiscal Year (FY) 2021, and construction is currently funded in FY 2023.

The public hearing will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the Schnebly Recreation Center located at 1101 North Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32118. It is being held to present information and obtain public input regarding the proposed design. It begins with an open house at 5:30 p.m., when participants may review project information and discuss the project with staff. There is a brief presentation at 6:00 p.m., after which participants may provide comments to all present.

Participants may also provide public comments directly to a court reporter at any time during the hearing. Written comments can be submitted at this hearing, by mail to Kathleen Enot, FDOT Project Manager, 719 South Woodland Blvd., MS 542, DeLand, FL 32720, or by e-mail to kathleen.enot@dot.state.fl.us no later than Monday, February 10, 2020.
