    PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The Florida Department of Health has proposed amending the operational requirements for public pools to allow for commercially bottled water in plastic bottles on the public pool wet deck for patron hydration, and to provide for the sanitation and safety criteria to permit swim-up bars in public swimming pools in Florida. In order to fully effect these changes, the Florida Building Commission will make corresponding changes to the Florida Building Code provisions pertaining to the construction of public swimming pools.

    SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED: Corresponding changes to provisions of the Florida Building Code, 7th Edition (2020), which are impacted by the proposed changes to the Department of Health’s operational requirements for public pools.
