    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on November 28, 2005, Bureau of Elevator Safety received a Petition for Variance from ASME A.17.1, Sections 2.1.3.1(b)(1), 2.7.6, 2.15.9.2, 2.20.4, 2.18.5 and 8.6.3 as adopted by Rule 61C-5.001, F.A.C., which prohibit the locating the elevator motor in the hoistway, require hands-on access to the governor, to have the guard plate less than the required 48” and to use ropes of a diameter less than the required size. The petition was received from Steve Powell of KONE Inc, requesting a variance to allow the installation of MonoSpace® elevator systems in the following location: 3907 Creek Wood Drive, Plant City, Florida (Petition VW 2005-168).
