The Board of Dentistry hereby gives notice:

Of the issuance of an Order regarding the Petition for Waiver or Variance, filed on November 4, 2013, by Sara Noel Willis. The Notice of Petition for Waiver or Variance was published in Vol. 39, No. 216, of the November 5, 2013, Florida Administrative Register. Petitioner sought a waiver or variance of paragraph 64B5-2.0135(3)(d), F.A.C., entitled “Dental Hygiene Examination”. The Board considered the instant Petition at a duly-noticed public meeting, held November 15, 2013, in Gainesville, Florida.

The Board’s Order, filed November 26, 2013, grants a “one-time” variance by giving the applicant an additional six (6) months from the date of the filing of the order to complete the Laws and Rules Written Examination. Petitioner demonstrated a substantial hardship; that application of the rule would violate the principles of fairness; and that the purpose of the underlying statute has been met.
