NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on December 20, 2010, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants, Bureau of Elevator Safety received a petition from UCF Morgridge International Reading Center. Petitioner seeks an emergency variance of the requirements of ASME A17.1, Section 2.20.4 and 2.24.2.1, as adopted by Chapter 30, Section 3001.2 Florida Building Code adopted by paragraph 61C-5.001(1)(a), Florida Administrative Code that requires 9.5mm steel rope and metallic sheave which poses a significant economic/financial hardship.
