Project Description: State Road (S.R.) 519 (Fiske Boulevard) and Interstate 95 (I-95) interchange improvements from south of Prosperity Place to north of Barnes Boulevard in Brevard County.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) invites all persons to a public hearing regarding design plans for improvements to the State Road (S.R.) 519 (Fiske Boulevard) and Interstate 95 (I-95) interchange from south of Prosperity Place to north of Barnes Boulevard in Brevard County.

The purpose of the project is to provide operational and safety improvements to the S.R. 519/I-95 interchange which include adding dual left-turn lanes at the on and off ramps. The free-flowing right turn movements onto I-95 will be adjusted to be under signalized control. In addition, the road will be resurfaced, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities will be added to the road and bridge. The northbound U-turn movement at the intersection of S.R. 519 and the southbound I-95 exit/entrance will be removed. The design phase of this project is scheduled for completion in late 2020, and construction is expected to begin in spring 2021.

The public hearing will be Thursday, January 23, 2020, at the City of Rockledge Council Chambers located at 1600 Huntington Lane, Rockledge, FL 32955. It is being held to present information and obtain public input regarding the proposed design. It begins with an open house at 5:30 p.m., when participants may review project information and discuss the project with staff. There will be a brief presentation at 6:00 p.m., after which participants may provide comments to all present.

Participants may also provide public comments directly to a court reporter at any time during the hearing. Written comments can be submitted at this hearing, by mail to Megan Owens, FDOT Project Manager, 719 S. Woodland Blvd., MS 542, DeLand, FL 32720, or by e-mail to megan.owens@dot.state.fl.us by Monday, February 3, 2020. All comments, written and oral, will become part of the project’s public record.
