    Project Description: Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study

    I-95 at SR 80/Southern Boulevard Interchange in Palm Beach County

    A PD&E study is FDOT’s process to evaluate the social, economic and environmental impacts associated with a planned transportation improvement project. The purpose of this project is to enhance overall traffic operations at the existing interchange of I-95 and Southern Boulevard by providing improvements to achieve acceptable traffic levels in the future, within the study limits.

    The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 14, 2016 and executed by the Federal Highway Administration and FDOT.

    The Public Hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. as an open house. A formal presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a comment period. Persons wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the hearing or by sending them to: Mr. Humberto Arrieta, PE, FDOT Project Manager, 3400 West Commercial Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before October 30, 2017 will become part of the Public Hearing record. In the event the Public Hearing cannot be held on October 19, 2017, due to severe weather or other unforeseen conditions, it will be held on the alternate date of Thursday, November 16, 2017, at the same time and place.

    Draft project documents will be available for public review beginning on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the following locations: Palm Beach County Library, 3650 Summit Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL 33406 (Sunday, 12:00 Noon to 5:00 p.m.; Monday through Thursday, 9:00:00 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.); Vedado Park Community Center, 3710 Paseo Andalusia, West Palm Beach, FL 33405 (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.); and the Cloud Lake Town Hall, 100 Lang Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33406 (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). The documents will remain on display through Monday, October 30, 2017. The documents will also be available on the project website at www.I95atSouthern.com, beginning on Thursday, September 28, 2017.
