The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: October 22, 2015, 5:30 p.m.6:30 p.m., CT; formal presentation starts at 6:00 p.m., CT

PLACE: Wausau Town Hall, 1607 Second Avenue, Wausau, Florida 32463

GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The FDOT will hold a public hearing regarding the multi-lane reconstruction of State Road (S.R.) 77 from one mile south of the Wausau City Limits to one mile north of the Wausau city limits. The hearing is being held to provide interested persons an opportunity to review and make comments regarding changes to the roadway alignment, for this 3.5 miles of multi-lane reconstruction of S.R 77 around Wausau.

A preferred alignment on the east side of Wausau was identified in 2006 as part of the Project Development and Environmental (PD&E) Study. Based on an updated value engineering and environmental study of the project, the new alignment will be around the west side of Wausau. This public hearing is to notify the public of this alignment change. The intent of this project is to design the final alignment and prepare plans for the reconstruction of a portion of S.R. 77 and construction of a new four lane roadway that relocates S.R. 77 around the town of Wausau. Right-of-way is currently funded in FDOT’s Five Year Work Program, however, construction is not funded at this time.
