    The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) announces a hearing to which all persons are invited.

    DATE AND TIME: Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. CDT. A formal presentation and public comment period will begin at 6 p.m. CDT.

    PLACE: Woodstock Church, 17495 Panama City Beach Parkway, Panama City Beach.

    GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: The intent of the project is to resurface 6.9 miles of U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) from the Walton County Line to Heather Drive. The intent of the project is to resurface 6.9 miles of U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) from the Walton County line to Heather Drive. Design improvements include:

    • Constructing a 10-foot multi-use path on the south side and a six-foot sidewalk on the north side, both with lighting

    • Adding a concrete barrier wall to continue the sidewalk across the eastbound bridge over Lake Powell

    • Constructing left turn lanes in both directions at Palm Beach Drive, Dolphin Drive, and Gulf View Drive

    • Constructing eastbound left turn lanes at Gainous Road

    • Constructing westbound left turn lanes at Marlin Avenue

    • Constructing eastbound right turn lanes at Camp Helen State Park, Le Grand Drive, Twin Lakes Drive, Christmas Tree Lane, and the Front Beach Road signalized intersection

    • Upgrading pedestrian features at the Front Beach Road signalized intersection to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

    No additional right-of-way is needed. Bids for construction will be received fall 2020.

    During the informal portion of the hearing, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) representatives will be available to discuss the project, answer questions, and receive your comments. A court reporter will also be available to receive your comments. During the formal portion of the hearing, FDOT will make a presentation followed by public comments.
