61G20-1.001Florida Building Code Adopted
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: House Bill 401 (2021), Senate Bill 286 (2021), and Senate Bill 804 (2021) made changes to statutory provisions which are included in the Florida Building Code. In order to reflect these changes, the Florida Building Commission must amend the Code. Additionally, House Bill 401 provides a mechanism for the Commission to issue errata to the Code to list demonstrated errors in its provisions. The Commission has identified a number of errors present in the Code, and intends to issue errata to clearly identify them, pursuant to the provisions of House Bill 401.

SUMMARY OF STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED REGULATORY COSTS AND LEGISLATIVE RATIFICATION:
The Agency has determined that this will not have an adverse impact on small business or likely increase directly or indirectly regulatory costs in excess of $200,000 in the aggregate within one year after the implementation of the rule. A SERC has not been prepared by the Agency.
The Agency has determined that the proposed rule is not expected to require legislative ratification based on the statement of estimated regulatory costs or if no SERC is required, the information expressly relied upon and described herein: The proposed changes are minor in nature and will have minimal effect on costs.
Any person who wishes to provide information regarding a statement of estimated regulatory costs, or provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative must do so in writing within 21 days of this notice.
