NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Licensing, has received the petition for declaratory statement from Gregory J. Cahanin on September 26, 2012.The petition seeks the agency's opinion as to the applicability of Section 493.6101(17)(f), Florida Statutes, as it applies to the petitioner.
The petition asks whether the provisions of Chapter 493, Florida Statutes, applies to Mr. Cahanin as he conducts scientific fire investigations or his rendering of expert opinions, testimony or advice based on such an investigation, including the determination as to the origin of a fire.
