GENERAL SUBJECT MATTER TO BE CONSIDERED: A public hearing is being held regarding planned capacity improvements on State Road 600 (US 17/92) in Osceola County, Florida.

Improvements being proposed as part of this design project are the widening of State Road 600 (US 17/92, South John Young Parkway/South Orange Blossom Trail) from four to six lanes for approximately 2.4 miles from south of Pleasant Hill Road to West Portage Street, the addition of a two-way flyover with one lane in each direction between the east leg of SR 600 and Pleasant Hill Road, and median modifications at select intersections.

This project is being designed to reduce congestion, enhance safety, and achieve an acceptable level of service while minimizing potential impacts. The change in access management will be implemented by modifying some of the existing median openings to improve safety and traffic operations. Right-of-Way acquisition is partially funded for 2018, and construction costs are currently not funded.

The hearing will begin as an open house at 5:00 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6:00 p.m. Staff will be available to discuss the project, and answer questions before and after the presentation.
